I ordered my 2024 Model 3 Performance, and I got it before the 2 price increases too. My date moved to July to August of this year, because there are so many orders. I will be keeping it, because the things you are saying are spot on. I still have my a 2023 Model 3 RWD, and it is plenty fast for a daily, but like you said...it looks like your car. I also changed the caps to black as soon as I got over a year ago. It only has 8000 miles on it. I just bought the 2024 Model Y long range AWD, and got the 0.99% financing. I plan on keeping that thing for good, because the almost 0% is a no brainer. It is really good too. So my plan is the keep the the 2023 Model 3 for 2 more years, so I will have ALL EVs in my garage.

The new M3P is a significant upgrade, but not worth losing $20K to sell your car, making another down payment, buying new tint, and new PPF. I think you would be better off keeping it, buying light weight wheels, aero mods, suspension, and something like a Cravenspeed Cinch Waist Belt Tightener to stop sliding around in the seat. I would only take that kind of loss if I found a steal of a deal on a used MSPlaid.

I would get the BMW. Not because I am bias but because you probably could get a good deal on one and from my personal experience of driving a few of the i450i its more fun. You get more bang for your bucks. You could even lease one.

In the cities it's multi-lane, countryside is autobahn style. I stay in the 2nd or 3rd lane. Number 4-3 lanes is for trucks.

I sold mine from sept 23’ M3P for 36,700 with 18.5k miles. Since I bought it in September I got it for a good price cause Elon had slashed some prices back then.

Eddite range is still going to be complete sht and question is how fast the w/hr will drop over 60 - it drops super fast now which makes it a pain in the ASS to drive over 60

First time Tesla buyer here and I ordered the Model 3 Performance, European model. ETA 2nd half June. My biggest concern is the first year value loss, driven by a) future price cuts and b) the next Model 3 version release looming...

I would only lease a Tesla these days.

Tesla’s has the highest profit per car (around 15%), Mercedes in comparison have about 12% per car. So be prepared for more price drops in the future.

The truth is that ANY car bought in the height of the market, you took a bath on. Although it hurts, another way to look at this, is that your purchase delta to upgrade isn't really any worse. Why?.... Well, if the market hadn't dropped, then yes, you would have been able to sell your current model 3 at a higher price, HOWEVER, the purchase price for the refreshed model 3 performance would also have been correspondingly higher. So your delta on the trade in, plus purchase, likely wouldn't have been that different. It only seems bad, because you're looking at this purely in terms of how much $ you "lost" on your current vehicle. Where it really actually hurts is if you financed and you are upside down.... But something tells me if you're purchasing this many cars you are surely paying cash for these - it'd be mad to finance them, particularly with current rates.

Keep in mind that since you didn't qualify for the federal $7,500 tax rebate when you bought the car, when you put it for sale you're competing on a used car market value that is set by the large majority of used Model 3 Performace cars that the owners DID get the $7,500 tax rebate on. So your depreciation burden is much more than other owners of the same car and mileage. This isn't a Tesla related issue with thier price drops as much as you make it out to be. Also, keep in mind the BMW i4M50 is a pig, weighing in about another thousand pounds than the Model 3 performance. (5,018lbs vs 4,048lbs). So while the BMW 0-60 is about the same as the Model 3 Performance, you WILL feel the extra thousand pounds in the handling department. The new Model 3 performance has all-new active dampers. But if you don't want to support Tesla, I get it. Get the BMW if it makes you happy. Life is too short to not drive what you want and by the looks of your whips, you CAN afford it. God Bless!

Thanks for the update! I waited long for the refresh model 3 to get released, then had to wait even more since the performance version was not available yet, probably around 1 year+ total just waiting and driving my 2010 honda! I got the same config as your beautiful 23' M3P and taking delivery in June. This will be my 2nd car and first car after college, absolutely stoked. Your videos have helped me decide what tint I should get, so thanks again! Going with 15% side windows, 5% back, and 35% windshield as I think that will help a lot making the 15% front window less transparent...still debating on tinting the sunroof but if I do it will be 35% or 50%, heard it doesn't ruin the aesthetic of the sunroof.

I'm in the same boat as you. I bought at the end of '22, have a Model 3 Performance. I have a new one on order, with about a mid-June time frame. What sold me on it was test driving a new base model 3, which is a significant jump up in quality and feel from the previous one. The lack of an indicator stalk is annoying, but over time I think I could learn to live with it. I've had my fair share of "weird" cars, and have an old Jaguar & a relatively newer 911 in my garage as well. I see the new Tesla Model 3 Performance as just a fun way to get a "beater car" that I don't need to worry about. I mean if you're looking for a daily commuter, you kind of can't do any better. Supposedly the new Model 3 has a stronger pull from 50+ mph and over, which is actually one of my major complaints about the current Model 3 Performance. Over 50, it really seems to run out of oomph. I did drive a Taycan as well. It's an incredible car, and much better driving than any other EV out there. But you're looking at almost double the depreciation of the Model 3 in just one year. Also the form factor is about that of a Model S, without the interior space, unless you go for a Taycan Cross Turismo... which is tempting, but then again that depreciation is brutal.

I'm waiting to reserve the Model 3 Performance for the same reasons as you, 1/4 time and the ability to continue to pull over 60mph. I had an older Model S and power died after 60mph. I feel like if the 1/4 time was great they would be advertising it everywhere, none of these reviewers for the M3P brought a draggy to check times, but maybe it was part of the NDA.

You talk about wipers on the headlight, I remember my dad's car had that. But back then the headlight glass was glass. but now it's plastic, acrylic or something. Easily to make scratches, so I understand why they are gone.
